WPCentral forums are changing

I just thought I'd mention the ignore list. If a particular poster is especially annoying to you, if you add that poster to your ignore list, you will not see any of his/her posts unless someone else quotes him/her.

I know the ignore function exists. I'd like to think I have enough will power on my own. But there are a couple of posters I may have to reconsider before I say something that could get me a warning from a mod!

I for one have made a few of these "rant" posts/threads out of frustration.later on in those threads i basically had to defend myself/opinion/statement/issues. That's happening alot on these forums. People who legitimately are frustrated after switching to WP or the l920 make posts or threads about their issues or what not and get bombarded with troll, and anti WP stuff. Its almost like people on hear are always on the defensive but then jump on the offensive if one negative thing is said.
I have had a terrible experience so far with WP8 mostly due to crap hardware (l920) that I had purchased (2 times waiting for 3rd) so of course I'd be frustrated as a consumer and as someone who wants to like this new experience .my brother purchased a white l920 and is currently waiting for his 3rd he came over after seeing my phone and thought it was really nice compared to his i5. Well now he regrets it. Especially after selling his i5 to buy the l920.
maybe some type of sub forum is needed for the "troubled" "frustrated" or an actual l920 issues subforum so the 920 section won't be bombarded with negative or frustrated users and can be full of flower picking and rainbows and that the happy people talking about how perfect their new device is? (seriously)

thats just it though. how can we on a forum change your opnion when you make a rant post? you already have your opinion, anything we say after that will more than likely end up into an arguement or a disagreement. if you have issues and need help figuring out what you can do to resolve them then thats what others are for. as far as your brother, he made the decision, not us. what if he came on here and made a post about all the things he doesnt like about his 920 and how he's mad he sold his iphone? how can anything we say change the fact that he still sold his iphone for a lumia 920? we cant. therefore that post would be seen as a rant post. you people are the ones making the decision. if your decision wasnt a well informed one then thats not anybody on this forums fault but your own. i'm sorry for your issues with lumai 920, but most of us are not having your issues nor can any of us make them go away. the best thing to do is return your device for a new one and hope for one that meets your expectations, or get something else. that is the only thing can satisfy you, not a rant post on here.

I hear ya...

The same thing happened after the Lumia 900 came out.

You've just got a lot of people with a new phone who are venting and an influx of newbies who just register and then post the same questions or concerns without searching first, or just come to post 3 times (2 of which are complaints) and then leave.

Once the initial 920 fervor dies down and the newbies become regulars and the flaky ones just leave, it will settle down around here.

Then we can look forward to more of the same when the Samsung ATIV S comes out hahaha... and the inevitable pissing contest between ATIV owners and 920 owners.
