Welcome to all developers who have signed up to this new section of the forums. You may know that I recently released a logging tool as an open source project WPClogger for any interested developers to get involved with.

I've had some great feedback so far and it's got me thinking. Who would be interested in helping me construct an open source tool set, WPCtools.

There are of course lots of controls, classes and all sorts around the internet, some free, some paid. What I'd like to see is if we could help the indie development community by creating a set of classes or controls to aid other developers, of course the WPClogger would be the first tool available, I also have a ridiculously simple YouTube class and Low memory device helper to add.

All items contributed would be licensed for anyone to use hopefully assisting in the quality of all marketplace apps, either packaged as a folder to be dropped into a project, or wrapped into a dll library.

So who would be interested? Do you already have some classes you could convert to being usable by either developers?

Sounds like a good idea Jay.

When I have the current version of my project wrapped up, id be glad to open source some components of it if any of them turn out to be useful!
Other than that I may also have time to contribute to any components that people are working on.

Wow that's a great idea! I hadn't heard of WPCLogger and will definitely check it out. I've been using the telerik controls in my last couple of apps, I won a licence last fall. They have a pretty decent reporting mechanism. One of the controls I use for them a lot is the feedback reminder, I find it noticeable in slowing the start of the app. I was originally looking to build one myself before I used theirs. That would definitely be a good addition to this kit.
