I can't think of many reasons to buy an Xbox over competing platforms when Microsoft has dwindled its appeal to one place: Game Pass.

I expect the next Xbox to be a Windows PC, sold without subsidies, perhaps from third party vendors, with an Xbox compatibility mode to play older software and bootable into a big screen mode to be easy to use in console mode. Microsoft may complement this release with a portable version and cheap streaming box.

This is all cool, but I am not sure it will move users from a comparable cheaper PS6 with a likely better interface and without the confusing dance of OSs and different game service providers, such as Microsoft, Steam, GOG, etc.
