Xbox Music (and others?) Desktop Notifications

I recall receiving desktop notifications in Xbox Music whenever the track changed. The only ones I currently receive are for incoming email. Is there a setting or something that I'm missing?

Do you like the notifications or are you trying to turn them off?

In Win 8 you can go to notifications settings and choose to turn them off, or hide them temporarily for up to 8 hours.

Unfortunately, no. I don't have them globally turned off, and Xbox Music is set to allow them (in Permissions).
