I'm thinking about purchasing an Xbox One w/Kinnect and am in need of some feedback regarding the features I'm looking at:

I'd like to hear feedback from people using OneGuide, anyone really, but Time Warner customers more so than others.

I have a PC running Windows 8.1 Pro w/Media Center and was wondering if the X1 will function as a receiver for it? If so, any feedback on it too!

The XBOX OneGuide is just an overlay over your video, when you select a channel the Kinect will burst out the appropriate IR signal to change the channel (similar to just using the TWC remote control itself). Works pretty well by either bringing up the OneGuide (tapping X) or the miniOneGuide (hitting a directional button) or shouting out, "Xbox watch ESPN." I have DirecTV and assume it works just the same as it does with a TWC box...

I don't believe the XBOX One can function in anyway as a media center extender like the 360. At least not at the moment. But, DLNA stuff is coming and currently the XBOX One can play a bunch of different video files off of USB hard drives/flash drives.

I have not found a way to get the Xbox One to work with WMC and TWC. The Xbox One will not act as a WMC Media Extender. You will have to plug your PC into the HDMI-in port of the Xbox One and use the Kinect IR blaster.

However, iIf you set it up to have the TWC channel guide in the OneGuide, then it will send TWC remote commands, not WMC commands. If you set your set-top box to be WMC, then it will populate the OneGuide with over-the-air channel information.

I don't use the OneGuide. I have a Logitech Harmony Smart Control, and I have two separate activities for Xbox One and WMC. First I turn on the Xbox One, which turns everything else on, then I use the Xbox One activity to select the TV app, then I switch to the WMC activity, then I control the WMC with the remote. If I want to use an Xbox One app or game, then I just switch to the Xbox One activity. I wish there was a way to control it all from the Xbox One, but there isn't as far as I know.

Actually, I don't miss the OneGuide at all. The Logitech remote works perfectly. It's RF and very programmable.
