So I just checked my tracking number. Says it's coming UPS and found some interesting things... it's coming from Ontario, Canada and it's being shipped by UPS Next Day Air Saver! Could this mean I could recieve it early??

On the email Microsoft sent to me that it was shipped. If you go to the tracking number provided in the email and click it, it should show that info. If you just received the email, could take a couple hours for it to show that info.

I think there is only 2 states that Amazon charges tax to... and Michigan isn't one of them.

It is not damn California it is damn Amazon as they have a warehouse or something like that in your state. If businesses have a physical presence in your state they are required to charge you sales tax.
