Between checking plans a few days ago, and again this morning, noticed Rogers Canada has switched all individual plan to 2 year agreements. The good news is that most plans have unlimited Canada wide long distance; great if you need that feature, but not appealing to me. The bad news is that they have really put the screws to data limits. I am on old plan with 3 Gb + 1 Gb bonus, unlimited local calling, extreme text, call display etc., limited voicemail for $80. The current largest data plan is 1Gb + 1Gb bonus for $75. Data overage fees have increased from $10/Gb to $15/Gb. Looks like they were not very happy about the mandatory switch to 2 year plans in Canada. The devil is in the details. To get the amount of data I am getting now would cost me $105. $25 dollars more in Roger's pocket every month to punish Canadians for switching from three year, to two year plans.
