Youtube loading in background

Hello,

I have an Optimus 7, updated to the latest mango update (7.5).
Recently I've been watching a youtube video that was very long. After a few seconds I noticed that it's very long (few hours), so I searched for another video, a shorter one (a minute). But next morning I found out that I have exceded my data plan for 30x times, which is super costly. Is there any possibility that that very long video was loaded in the background anyway, even if I clicked on another one right away?
I think it's a problem on the carrier side.

Maybe it's the carrier, but maybe it's your live tiles that synchronize on every half hour. If you have limited data plan, you should disable live tiles...

I know about the live tiles and I had them enabled from the time I bought the phone (6 months ago) and I never had a problem. See the carrier said they have recorder more than 1GB of downloaded data in less than 3 hours. So i guess the live tiles are out of question. Any other suggestions?

I've definatly seen YouTube videos behaving strangely. Unfortunately the standard YouTube app doesn't have background capabilities. What YouTube app do you use?
