This thread along with the article about Chloe really makes me sad to be male lmao.

More importantly I'd hope Microsoft wouldn't allow something like this tone associated with any type of questionable and lame stuff. Make holographic teaching for kids. Gaming...save the porns for the deviant to find online.

I respect your right to your own opinion so I would expect reciprocity when I say that you're completely off base. Not all people who look at porn are deviants. Responsible adults can watch porn and not have any urges to perform deviant activity. Or put another way, I just wanna tear up the old lady.

And that's perfectly fine, though I could've done without the last part. I don't watch it, it's pretty lame to me but ehh to each their own :)

Still i'd rather us debate and discuss more useful and beneficial things for Hololens then sit around like a bunch of high schoolers who just discovered porn the first time and can't help but talk about boobies lmao. That's exactly what I get from this thread....not adults discussing actual useful and less....deviant/questionable content but a bunch of people whose first thought is a new way to get off.

LMAO. I'd expect this type of convo between my brothers age group of 12-14 years old to be overly excited....I suppose I expected a little bit more from older males :)

Let me know when there's something wrong with that. Lack of intimacy destroys many couples who've been together for long periods. If this technology can help, I'm all for it. A healthy sex life is an important aspect of a happy marriage. Maybe one day you'll get to my age and appreciate the knowledge I'm droppin' on you.

There are like 50 threads discussing non-porn topics and this one for it, so...

I don't need your 'knowledge' but thanks I guess. I personally would not like a product potentially this good to be dropped into the hands/niches of questionable material. Exactly what we need is even more reasons for men(and women) not to get away from behind their computers and not go out and actually meet a real live person and gasp...DO THE REAL THING and not a hologram lmao. As cool as it sounds, that seems pretty lame to play with holograms. Of course I feel the same about dudes who use fleshlights/dolls. But that's another topic for another time.

Your opinion is to censor while mine is to let people do what they want... Lol yeah, you're the right one dude XD

It's not about what's right or who's wrong. I am free to have my opinion as you are yours...I just expected a little bit more sensible stuff from some of the people who otherwise usually are fairly intelligent.

I just don't think it is suitable for WC, especially when far less controversial and to some people, perverse, topics get locked/deleted :) But ehh.

As I stated in an earlier post on this thread, porn sells... MS will (when it starts to be an issue) probably enable a Safemode that'll block things in the same way SafeSearch works.

I said that porn helped VHS, DVD and now streaming become the standard. Look at Blu-ray, Sony (and friends) blocked porn at Disney's request, I don't see Blu-ray becoming the norm like VHS & DVD...

Porn could help HoloLens sell in huge quantities and may in fact become the standard that VHS & DVD became.

As for free speech, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and have their opinion listened to. But don't force your opinions on people...

When adults behave as adults, any topic can be discussed. If it's perverse to you, stay away. You've made your opinions known and some of us have let you know that you don't own these boards. If you're too immature to discuss pornography as an adult, go find a Lumia thread to hijack.

Lmao of course you don't like my opinion but I have to respect yours. I was talking about the overall thread topic. It's stupid and I am hoping it is something Microsoft will not endorse and block from happening. There are other niches such as education and gaming where this could have massive success without connecting to deviant things

It's the word "deviant" I don't like used. It means unnatural, for gods sake humans have been looking at porn for hundreds of years in one form or another... Look at sculptures that show lady parts or a gentlemen's sausage. Should we cover all this up as being deviant??

As long as there's safeguards to protect those that should be protected, the rest of society can get on without this 'Nanny State' mentality that seems to be creeping in!

Sorry Superboy Micah, but I too take issue with the "deviant" term. I respect if you don't want to see the HoloLens used for porn. I may not want to see it used for Minecraft as I really dislike that game. But the same way that doesn't give me the right to want Microsoft to block Minecraft on the HoloLens, so doesn't it give you the right to want to see porn blocked.
Freedom is something that Western society has now embraced. And while I know that in the USA, this "freedom" normally stops when it comes to mature content (and believe me, I've done a Master's degree where I delved deep into American legislation regarding "obscenity" etc and the US have laws that would make the Vatican blush at how conservative they are), you must understand that Microsoft is a global company and that people in other countries may not share your views on society.

As for the "deviant"...you do realise that's the kind of concept that is also used in Russia's current "anti-gay" laws, right? And that Islamic extremists use to confine women to the inside of burkas and to have them stoned to death? And that the Inquisition used to burn people at the stake?

I respect your opinion on porn. But neither is porn "deviant" (specially with studies saying that moderate consumption of porn is actually healthy because it helps humans - men AND women - relieve tension and stress) nor should Microsoft take the place of the Holy Roman Inquisition and go around censoring whatever they consider "deviant" or "inappropriate". There should be only one limit to liberty: legality.

My last comment yesterday was trying to get the comment out of the gutter, but you all had to dive right back in there!

The whole post really is about if the porn industry get on-board (quite literally), it could do great things.
I'm a bit too young for the VHS/Betamax battle, but I was lead to believe that Betamax refused to allow porn, so guess what? VHS won.
DVD was a success also with porn.
No porn on Blu-ray (to my knowledge), I know when Disney (thus killing MS-backed HD-DVD) signed up they asked Sony (and consortium) to block porn from the format. And with that, online streaming went wild!
Let the next battle commence!

G.

Actually the death knell for HD DVD was when the porn industry backed the bluray format. They came on board right before Disney.

So I was watching an episode of Inside Gaming Daily and they were talking about Oculus, VR, and games and stuff, and the topic of porn came up.

According to one of them (and this actually makes sense), apparently for a while, most of the porn on the Hololens is going to be a bunch of anime. Real people would need character models and filming and a whole bunch of stuff while anime could be made mostly with code. I hadn't thought of that, but it would make sense.

The word deviant is accurate here. Your comparison is way extreme.

How? I got this definition straight from Bing.

departing from usual or accepted standards, especially in social or sexual behavior:

synonyms: aberrant ? abnormal ? atypical ? anomalous ? irregular ?

Lol considering the amount of people who watch porn, you seem to be the "deviant" in this case.

Lol because I am not going on about my love of porn in this thread? Okay then :)
