    There has to be a reason the tiles are 3D now. I think we have to start thinking different about tiles. Tiles are not flat anymore. They will be 3D blocks.

    I'm guessing that with 3D gestures you can flip these blocks and on each side it shows you different things like controls and extra information.

    If MS isn't onto this, they should think about it. 3D blocks sounds like a natural evolution from 2D tiles.

    Do you think low end phones will handle three dimensional cubes without taking a hit in their already limited performance?

    What about new users who are still trying to figure out the existing UI from coming from Android or iPhone?

    It looks like 3d, but it is just a 2d animation simulating 3d effect. Same GPU usage as current one.
