How do I disable glance? It's sucking the life out of my L1520. I can't find it in the Settings nor at the app list

My update from a prior build was funky so I did a hard reset. When it came back, I see glance nowhere. Hope this helps, thanks!

Here's my experience: I did an immediate hard reset after the upgrade and glance was there, which I enabled. After updating some apps from the Store, however, I noticed that Glance was gone, leaving me with no way of disabling it.. I believe this was also the case with 10036

Same here on my Lumia 1320. I just did a hard reset and found that glance is no where. I had issue with 10136 and later 10149 too. Need glace badly 😒

Yep, missing glance as well as Hey Cortana, although both are installed and Hey Cortana is shown in the privacy settings.

Opening both in the old store doesn't give me reinstall option and both don't open properly when tapping the link and tapping to open with Store beta.

Glance and Hey Cortana are installed. They are just not showing up in neither app list nor settings. No way to turn them off unless I do a hard reset again. :/

From what i have read it looks like anyone who did a hard reset after installing has this problem, if you went from 8.1 and didn't hard reset people seem to have the options still.
Annoying as it is battery draining.

My last observation: I re-flashed my L830 with 8.1 last night. While on 8.1 I turned off auto-update on Store. I only let the system apps update. I then let the phone update to the latest 8.1 on my L830 ( 8.10.14219). I then installed Windows Insider and let it update to W10 10149. I let it sit for 10 hours and when I got back everything was working, including all system apps under extras. Even glance screen was there and running fine. All the apps that had update problems seemed to be fine. The only thing in terms of bug I had to this point was the blinking Quiet hours and some apps that still wanted to update from Store beta even though the apps are already installed and working fine.

Ok, after a reboot Store beta found plenty more apps including system apps and updated them. Glance screen disappeared right from under my eyes. :(

I would urge people to hard reset after installing the preview, and not restoring any backups.(only because this is what i did,but probably not the cause)(You will need to hard reset anyway if you want to get decent performance!!)I'm back on 8.1 now.I couldn't get the glance setting back on the preview no matter how I reset. After clean install of 8.1,the glance setting came back eventually .I did another hard reset after this and restored my data.I had to search for glance in the store after this though to get it back.Im gonna stick with 8.1 for now after all that

Interesting thread, can people please also post their phone models?

Would help identify if it's more prevalent on some models or it's just across the board; in addition to this it would help others with the same model make a educated decision whether or not to install it on their phone(s).

I am on a EU L1520 but from what I have read it is happening to all devices that people have done a hard reset on after upgrading from 8.1 to 10149.

L620 here.

My story: after hard reset glance was there and I was able to set it up, it only showed clock thou. Then after updating apps via store beta the glance option from menu is gone (it was in extras), but the glance screen still works.

The battery life is bad for me, I wonder if its related to glance or not, even with battery saver ON it drains ~ 6% per hour. If its related to glance I am happy to turn it off (thou I'd have to do another hard reset) as I use it on my daily driver (not a heavy user so can afford a couple of bugs).

I am on a 1020, I cannot say if the glance settings existed after the hard reset but before all the apps where updated. Glance itself works (with time display and notifications only) but I cannot change only.
