Missing telephone contacts

I have just upgraded to windows10 on my lumia 640xl. Transfer my data from my old 820 worked and imported 222 contacts but I cannot find them on my new mobile.

Any help would be great

App People, if you registered correctly your Microsoft / Hotmail account, you'll find them there imported by cloud as all phones.
If you used any different methos, please give details

Check if your primary account need attention in Settings

Resolved! Imported into gmail from live mail. names transferred but no numbers! Extracted to csv, names and numbers transferred but dropped off the leading zero! Edited the numbers and inported into gmail. Fortunately I only had 220 contacts!

After upgrading to windows 10 mobile on my Lumia 640, in order to get the contracts to import after the upgrade, o had to go through settings/updates and reset the phone. Out retained the version of windows 10 mobile, but fixed the contacts error.

Follow the instructions I included in my reply to your first post and that will resolve your issue. Also log into your live out Microsoft account and perhaps remove some of your old devices that might still be listed.
