Hi all,

I successfully updated a Lumia 520 (Windows Phone 8.1) to Windows 10 Mobile (thanks to https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...dows-10-mobile-installer-version-1-0-t3834439). Unfortunately, most apps (netflix, whatsapp etc.) in the Windows Store now show the message "device not compatible".

But some do work and install just fine (i.e. spotify)

Is there some device ID check built into the Windows Store blocks me from installing apps although I have Windows 10 running successfully?

Any tips or hints how to solve that?

Best and Thanks!

Joe

PS Might edditing the registry help, as described in these articles?

Which version of wm10 are you on now? If you still have TH2 (10586) that could be the problem. I think support for silverlight apps came after Anniversary Update (14393). In that case registry edit to x30 device might help you install those apps. Dont update past 14393 (regedit to x40 or x50 device) as it might cause Bluetooth and maps rendering issues. I have whatsapp installed on my lumia925 on last 14393 build.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer. Indeed, I have version 10586 installed. Unfortunately, when I scan for new updates, it says my device is already up to date and there are no newer versions available. Is there a way to force an update to a later version of windows 10 mobile?

I don´t have a Lumia 520 myself so I´m not sure it will work but I was able to update my Lumia 925 to 14393 by changing the phone model to Lumia 830 in the registry with Interop Tools. Install InteropTools_RC-1.9-pre10_arm_1.9.390.0 version of interop Tools and all arm-dependencies for 10586 from XDA you can dowload it here :https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70175971&postcount=513.

Instructions on how to install and use it : https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...app-interop-tools-versatile-registry-t3445271

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SYSTEM - Platform - DeviceTargetingInfo for single SIM change to these values
PhoneManufacturer = NOKIA
PhoneManufacturerModelName = RM-984_1037
PhoneModelName = Lumia 830
PhoneHardwareVariant = RM-984

You will loose Glance Screen after update but that can also be fixed https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71927078&postcount=67.

Check for updates and your phone should update to 14393. After you have updated to latest 14393 build a hard reset is recommended.
