Now only Lumia 830, 930 have Camera button in x30 series, so there are many phones that do not have Camera button and Microsoft seems to reserve that to high-end phones only.
I think it would be great to have a swipe gesture or something like that on the Lockscreen for opening Camera app.
Like on Android we have to swipe right and Camera opens after a brief interval.
    What do you guys think?

The HTC One doesn't have a camera button either, I believe. If you really want to get the camera from lock, an easy solution is to just change one of your four notification center buttons to a camera button.

That would need pressing Unlock button, swiping from top and then selecting Camera in Action Center. -3 Steps
If there is a swipe gesture on Lockscreen there will be 2 steps required.
Don't you think it's a little more convenient?

You can swipe down from the lock screen.
You don't have to unlock, first.

Personally, I just think all Windows Phone phones should have a camera button.
That's something that has always set them apart.
Every Windows Mobile phone, that I recall, had one.

But you have to press Unlock key to get to the Lockscreen if the phone is idle.
You're right, EVERY WP should have a Camera button especially when they are touting the imaging capabilities of their phones.

Turn on double tap for unlocking.

Windows 8.1 already has a swipe down lockscreen to access camera. This will surely come with Windows 9 for both tablets and phones.
