    Agreed. I think they should stick with "Spartan", though I can see how the name, and association with ie of old, and msft, will be a source of humour. A lot of humour. And derision. Lots.

    Still, if they spin it, the name is a good one.

    (Windows ) Internet Browser (10). Why? Because figuring out names for browsers is plainly confusing for the average user. It might be a fancy an a name with a story, but people will forget that soon. The simplest is just to name the product what it's used for. Spartan reminds me of roman times, a cosplay perhaps, and the movie 300 as an example. The name should suggests its function and be intuitive, like if a camera crew were to film an average user on the street. I think they would more easily get into the conversation with internet browser that spartan.
