I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 yesterday and everything seems to be in order except for one thing. When I search in the settings app it always says "no results for..." Even when I type in for example "update" nothing shows up though clearly it should show links to the update settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Here is were you tell cortarna to shut up under her switch turn of the web switch then search only looks at your pc

I do not understand what you are saying. I am not talking about cortana, I am talking about the settings app.

I cannot get it to give me any results no matter what I put in.

So nothing appears as you begin to type in search box? Does this always occur or just in your latest instance of using the setting app? As soon as you open the app it should be populated. If this is a single use incident close the app and try again. If it repeats all I can suggest would be a restart.
If you are having other issues you're upgrade might not have gone well.

It has been that way ever since I upgraded. Restarts don't solve it and this is the only issue I am having other than some system apps crashing which I don't think is related.

I still can get to all of the settings manually and the search function works in control panel and everywhere else as far as I can tell. For me it really isn't a big deal, at least not big enough to try a full reinstall. I just was wondering if anybody had a simpler solution.

If you can live with it I guess you can take comfort in knowing it's a work-in-progress or as Microsoft likes to say it will never be done. The settings app in particular I believe will be updated shortly as the control panel is being phased out, not to mention the two apps being redundant. The other systems apps crashing suggests something else though and I'm not knowledgeable enough to have any other suggestions.

I am having the sam issue, everything else works fine. This was the only result I found. all of the results are regarding Cortana. I,m still looking, when I find it I'll postit. If you would do the same that would be great.
