why can't I hear Cortana, she hears me?

I just installed Windows 10, successfully set up my mic according to Cortana but I cannot hear her when I ask any questions.

I've heard of issues with Cortana recognizing the microphone, but not issues with playing back her voice. I'd recommend first making sure that the appropriate audio device is configured as your default playback device and that the volume is turned up to an appropriate level. If you still have trouble, I'd recommend reinstalling the latest drivers. You might need to check the audio hardware vendor's website or the website of your computer/motherboard for updates. I've had a few driver issues with some of my Windows 10 upgrades.
