lumia 950xl cant receive text but send them

I just purchased a new Lumia 950xl and went to att to get a sim card for it. Girl said it was defect because sim card wouldn't stay in.. Turns out she was putting it in wrong. Now I can send text and make calls but not receive text. I can get phone calls. Anyone have suggestions please
