Why can't I download apps with Windows 10?

Why can't I download apps with windows 10?

So I can open the app store and search for apps as long as its not in the search bar but as soon as I decide what app I want and click on it to download it closes the app store. Same thing happens when I try to use the search bar in the app store.

are you able to check for updates? Maybe there's an update pending for store?
