Is the Windows insider no longer available for some devices?

I used to be able to update my Lumia 1020 to windows 10 trough the Windows Insider app, now it seems (for me at least) there is no update available, I am running the latest update of windows 8.1.
Can anyone confirm this?

For devices like the 1020 you're only able to use the release preview ring.

Correct. Going through that same exact thing with my M8. Need to use preview ring to get the update.

and not for long, release preview will get the RTM redstone build in a matter of weeks now

In that moment, all uneligible phones will be kicked out from Insider updates, as mentioned by Gabe during WIn10M launch.
