Problem sending a text message to an email account

Hey, so I have a Lumia 640 running the most recent windows insider build, and I've never had to do this before, but I needed to send a text message to an email address as part of registering for an automated messaging-type service. Anyway, where I normally type the number of who I am texting, I would type the email address instead, and send the message. However, the message is never received on the other end. Now I tried sending an email from my personal email account to my phone with the recipient being 484-XXX-XXXX@tmomail.net, and I am able to get the message on my phone just fine, but when I reply from my phone, again it says it has been sent, but when I open my email it never shows up.

I have all my APN settings set up based on t-mobiles website:

Internet APN: fast.t-mobile.com
All other fields blank

MMS APN: fast.t-mobile.com
MMSC (URL): http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
All other fields blank

If anyone has a solution to this problem I would love to know, thanks.
