Weekly photo contest: Public transport

We're in the middle of the early year event season right now and for many of us at Windows Central and Mobile Nations at large that means breaking out of the office and going outside. In most cases we'll avoid driving when public transport is available, so what better theme for this weeks photo contest!

Public transport is a daily staple for many of us. It's how people get to work, school, grocery shopping, vacation, virtually anywhere we could need to go. It's also something that's pretty global, and we're looking forward to getting a little flavor of what the transportation is like where you are!

Rules

Rules are going to be just like last week. Here they are:

- Picture must be taken with a Windows Phone
- Picture must be uploaded to the contest thread (linked below)
- You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software or apps you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine, this is art
- Feel free to add a little back story, we want to know how the picture came to be
- You must have used a valid email address to register here at Windows Central, so I know how to contact the winner
- Only ONE entry per week per person

We're going to continue our social sharing of entries. Share any pictures you take for the contest on Instagram, Twitter and Fhotoroom using the following hashtags. I'm on a water bus pulling into Rialto stop. Another water bus is just leaving Rialto stop. A third water bus is coming down the canal and is under the Rialto Bridge while three gondolas for hire and a water taxi all try to jockey for position...

Me and my girl were on a trip to Porto (Portugal) and this picture was taken almost accidentally. (touch screen problems couldn't unlock the phone, it was a close call since we were running to catch a train).
Not that great, just wanted to share with you guys, since you were the ones responsible for me joining the windows phone family.

This bridge is part of the Skytrain system in Vancouver, Canada. The trains are driverless so this is the view from the front seat.

It was taken a long time ago on a first-generation Samsung Focus. I edited it with Nokia Creative Studio and Fantasia Painter (on a Nokia Lumia 710).

This was taken using my Lumia 1520 before I broke its screen..so lots of sweet memories are embedded in this photo..
It was on my business trip to Intramuros, Philippines - the only place (i think) where these 'Kalesa' (historical horse riding public transport, now mostly for tourists' interests) are still for public..alongside the 'King' of Philippine public transport, the Jeep.

Behind is the historical wall of Intramuros (in latin which means, within the walls) which was constructed more or less by the 1700s.

This is the Gautrain (Golden Train) at the Hatfield station in Pretoria, South Africa. Its the first rapid rail train in Africa. It runs between downtown Johannesburg and Pretoria with another line that goes to the OR Tambo International Airport. Shot with my Lumia 920, Edited with Fhotolens.
