Unable to Install W10 Preview on Thinkpad 8

I've been trying to get W10 Preview onto my Thinkpad 8 but it keeps failing with no explanation. At first I tried to do it over the air but, when that failed, I downloaded an ISO of the 32 bit version (because that's what's already on it) and made a bootable Flash drive. That seemed to start off well enough but after 20 minutes or so it also failed and simply said that the install was unsuccessful with no further explanation. Does anybody have any useful tips for getting this to work? Is it more likely to work if I wipe the SSD first and start afresh or is that just going to screw me over?

What screen are you getting to when it fails? Is it the circle one with the percentage?

No, it's a blue, rectangular window. I think the exact wording was "unable to install on this computer" or words to that effect. There were no error numbers or anything that might be helpful.
