Windows Phone 10 to include WiFi calling standards?

We all know USA carriers have a fragmented selection of devices in their networks. Why not incorporate UMA into the base OS? That way users moving from AT&T/International/etc can take advantage of T-Mobile WiFi Calling/etc.

Not to point fingers, but Apple has been doing this for awhile now ... Would be amazing if Microsoft sold Lumias with a "magic" SIM.
 
Agreed, if the WiFi calling is indeed a standard, there's no reason for it to only work on a specific carrier's branded phones.

Their WiFi calling is based on standards, so I have to wonder why it is added at the firmware level ...

This would go great with their new software update scheme
