Will builds past 10549 need you to be in 10549?

At the moment, I am stuck at build 10536 (or so, doing hard reset on my phone atm) and when I saw that the 10549 was out, I got hyped... specially since people said it was smooth!
To my surprise, it needed a downgrade... god dammit! a downgrade? My Lumia 1020 USB port has been faulty for about 6 months. No PC recognizes it, no cable works, no USB port makes the miracle... so I can't upgrade to 10549.

Now you understand my question. What will happen when the next build is released? Will I be stuck at my current build forever and ever until I get a new phone?

Gabe Aul has already mentioned that they're working on fixing it so that later builds will not have this bug. Meaning you'll be able to upgrade directly to the next build (as long as they've fixed the aforementioned bug).

Just an FYI, I spent about $20 and got an aftermarket back assembly due to the same issue. Took about 30min to swap. Good as new.
