1. Yes, as far as I am aware. Better because you don't need light houses. I don't have a Vive, but I've not seen anyone describe the room scale tracking as better on that. 2. Kinda, with a preview utility from Acer. Not properly yet. Should be fully enabled in the coming weeks, perhaps a month? It'll be there before Christmas no doubt.

It is surprisingly good.
Had once an issue in very low light conditions but did not happen again.
