It would have to be 2100aws for T-mobile. The focus has UMTS 850/1900/2100 MHz. AT&T uses UMTS 850/1900 MHz. Europe uses UMTS 900/2100 MHz. I am sure the 2100 is for Europe.

To be honest 2G isn't that bad if you are just looking at mobile news sites and such. Streaming video would an issue.

T-Mobile uses 1700 & 2100. One is for uplink the other is for download. So to get 3g a phone has to have both. Since the focus and focus s only have 2100 it would not get tmobile 3g

(I'm in the same situation -wondering about Focus S- for T-Mobile)

then how come the HTC HD7 doesn't have 1700, and it was offered on T-Mobile??

HTC HD7
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100
HSDPA 850 / 1900 or HSDPA 850 / 2100

I am interested also. My SO has a pile BB curve 8900 and a very expensive cincinnati bell unlimited plan. T mobile is offering that unlimited everything plan for $50/month and I want to get some cheap phone to use with it. Not that I really need 3g for her since she is used to the BB crap internet.
