Hi all, me again... total noob....

Can anyone let me know if there is a way to set up internet explorer to actually close and/or delete the history after closing_

finding it quite annoying that I go back to the homescreen, do whatever, and the next time I open IE, it's at the last page I was at.

Also, even when I delete the history, it doesn't revert back to the opening page, but stays at the last site.

Is there no homepage settings?

I just don't like the idea that IE is always at the last page I visited - really annoying....

Hi eholzki, there's no home page settings but if you just hit ... / tabs and delete the tabs when you have finished browsing, when you next visit Internet Explorer it should just open a blank page.

Is that any help ?

Aha.... tabs....never thought of that. maybe that will help. Shame about the homepage. Is there no hack for that? Our handset if from T-Mobile Germany and they have their own rubbish "web'n'walk" portal as the starting page set up.

We've pinned google to the home screen so far to at least have the same starting point, but when you leave IE, do some things, and then hit the "back" button enough, it takes you back to the last page. Maybe the tabs will help this.

Still a bit annoying isn't it? Why can't IE be really closed?

Yes I know where you're coming from, hope the tabs works for you and T-Mobile hasn't ruined that idea.

There may be hacks for IE explorer for unlocked devices, but not sure what they are if any.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to have to try and see how it works when my wife gets home tonight. The Lumia is hers. I must say the actual phone is amazing quality. We got the blue version and it just stands out compared to any other phone out there right now.

Not sure if I want to hack a brand new handset though.... We'll see.... I'll have a look around :D

Yes i know what you mean, yes the Lumia is a very classy phone, have to agree there.

I hope you're using the blue theme to match the phone ?

We can't have embarassing colour clashes eholzki! :D

Yes have a wee lookie through the hacking threads and see if you can fined any IE hacks that maybe tempt you (or not) to unlock your Lumia.

Either stop surfing porn on the wife's phone, or take one more step and delete the browsing history...

Sorry, just re-read first post, looks like you already tried that...just stop surfing porn on the wife's phone...
