Now that I got your attention... with some quick 2 minute photoshop work + my idea.. I have created the following.

I introduce to you the NOKIA Xbox phone.

It's a dual screen phone with the second screen dedicated for the keyboard and game controller. You can switch between both by pressing a hot-key.

I can dream can't I?

It's a pretty cool idea. Somewhere there's some plans where MS was considering having attachments you could swap out. Keyboard changes to game controller changes to second screen, etc. It'd be bulky, but if done right it could've been a cool option.

The touchscreen would be more helpful because there would be instances where you would need the keyboard without the hassle... For example: while playing the game you would come to the end and you would fill out your name. Or while playing the game, you would get a text in the middle of it and you would want to answer it and post a quick reply. Half a second later, boom, your playing double dragon with your familiar controller.

I just don't care for touch screen controllers. I can hardly use emulators on phones for that very reason. I always miss the buttons and move off of the d-pad. It is just so much easier with raised components.

Touchscreen gaming controls are a terrible idea. I'm not trying to be rude, but the point of having off screen controls is to not have to look at them, and with them on yet another touchscreen you'd spend too much time looking back and forth. If they make an Xbox phone, it better have physical buttons.

I think you guys are expecting to play COD or BF on the phone. That is a bad idea even of you had physical controls. Touchscreen controls/keyboard that do not take half the screen is great idea for casual games/messages (SMS, email, etc.)

I think they tried to patent it, right?

It's a nice concept, but like boss.king said, without any kind of touch feedback you would have to keep looking to both screens, it just isn't pratical.

Maybe it could work with "relative controls", which change position depending on the placement of your fingers (like the option in the XBL game Z0mbies (on tHe pHone)), but that ends up being yet another reason against that concept, since it works fine on the mainscreen.

If the control is going to be physical anyway, there's no point in adding another screen that's just going to suck away battery life.

I saw a Chinese emulator phone once with two analog sticks that were spring loaded so you could press down on them to make them pop up. It was very cool, but I have never been able to find the article again.

This would be nice if instead of a second screen these were just really low profile physical buttons. I know it would have me playing more games.

Touch screen controller? no thanks....

i can already do that with my WM and it sucks. ( omnia 2 )

GAAR i hope to god they dont make a touch screen remote, worst crap on the market...

id much rather a physical remote. like the Androids/PS phones. like this: http://www.destructoid.com/-playstation-phone-xperia-play-to-ship-this-march-193971.phtml

SPECIALLY if your gona control your Xbox with it ( witch you will ) if it was STRICTLY for gaming and playing on the phone .. ok ... but it wont be .. not with the new ECOSYSTEM.

Eh... I think everyone will get used to it. It was the same thing when they forced touchscreen keyboards on all of us. A lot of people kicked and screamed (inluding myself), but in the end, we've learned (or accepted) to use it.

I just don't think physical controllers have a place on mobile phones. We have DS, Vita, and the 360 for that.

This is a really good idea...beyond a module for Windows Phone, I see other potential uses as well...e.g. a sort of wireless pad for controlling a non-touchscreen PC on Windows 8; a full remote pad for projector phones/tablets; remote control for phones connected to TVs via HDMI.

Many possibilities
