Need some help

I was having problems with extremely poor battery life after update to 8.1 and randomly when I would type it would instant repeat whatever I touched, so I tried a soft reset and then a hard reset. After the hard reset my phone keeps locking up and getting really hot. Any suggestions to try?

What phone is that ? if a battery can be removed easily... try replacing the battery with a new one. Soft resets again... if all fails downgrade to 8.0 by using the Nokia software if your phone is Nokia.

Issues like 'Battery Life' and 'Phone getting hot' will not get fixed for next few months(till we get the firmware update)
For best battery life under this is to use 2G connection and disable as many as background tasks you can.

? How to switch to 2G connection ??
Go to 'Settings' then 'Cellular+SIM' then further in 'SIM Settings' and selecting maximum connection speed as '2G'.

? How to disable background tasks ??
Go to 'Settings' then 'Battery Saver' then disallow the allowed apps in there as many as you can.
