Facebook for WP8.1 Contact syncing much worse than on WP8

So it never syncs. When I add new people on Facebook, on WP8 they would sync nicely with inside the people hub after a short while or a day. With this new worthless Facebook app that is supposed to take over this functionality, it never syncs, or maybe once in 2 weeks? I always have to go to settings > Connect with my phone > Sync now to manually start the process.

Do more people suffer from this?

I have this problem as well.

If I'm correct, we should have a fix for this by July, as WP8.1 should start filtering widely by then.

I wish I could stay with WP8, though. I rely on the People Hub a lot, so this kind of poor integration renders it useless. (I almost can't believe I have to use the poorly-optimized Facebook app now.)
