Do i need to disable DP on broken 8X to get it on new 8X?

My 8X broke unexpectedly last night with no way to access the start screen or anything beyond the first boot screen. I want the DP on my next 8X. I read a while ago that two devices under the same account cannot be enrolled at the same time. Is this true, or is there a way around this?

False, I have my sister's 521 and my personal 920 enrolled under my name.
