Why is my Windows Phone not let me go into certain apps and start tile doesn't display correctly?

Today, earlier, I turned off my phone to preserve battery throughout the day. I later came back and turn it on to see that it wouldn't let me access battery saver, my music app, my file manager, and on top of that, some of my start tiles wouldn't display correctly. I've soft resetted my phone, but the problem still persists. I really want to find a way to fix it without hard resetting my phone. It's not letting me take screenshots either, so I can't post it on here. Is there anything I can do?

have you tried a soft reset first?

(hold power + volume down until phone reboots - ~10-15 seconds)

I have just decided to factory reset my phone as I couldn't find a solution anywhere I searched, but thanks for the help.
