Why do we lose some black space at home screen for no reason?

Users who have the light theme won't agree with you because the sides of their tiles will abut the black bezel, making their tiles look anchored.

Sometimes, "blank" space is there for a reason. The goal doesn't have to be to light every pixel. Negative space can be additive.

It's a lot better than it was with wp7 (prior to the 7.8 update). There was a LOT of space on the right. I don't mind the blank space, I feel that it actually adds to the experience, rather than making things feel crowded.
