Re: How to update any L920 to GDR2/Amber in 12 easy steps!

Just one last thing: the euro rom works just fine, right? Any problems (a part from tethering)?

I flashed the Euro Amber to my 920. Works great, but the only thing that's weird now is that the screen wont rotate when I browse the net. Any ideas?

Thank you for all the work put into this guide. Easy to follow.
BTW The Spanish keyboard trick works for tethering on AT&T

^^ make sure you do not open Access Point after the keyboard fix. It will cause tethering to break again.

Re: How to update any L920 to GDR2/Amber in 12 easy steps!

I think that has been asked before, but if anyone could shed some light on this, I would appreciate it. I flashed to Euro Dev first, then to a stock Telstra, and then to an AU CV ROM (reason was for the higher firmware number) and in all cases, it allowed me to restore the phone (messages, call logs, apps but no app settings, and accounts). If you wanted to later go to the stock Rogers AMBER ROM, there is no restore option (although you do get the messages back when you enable the chat history). This seems convoluted to me? When you sign into your MS account, the backup is there, so my naivety says that all those settings should be available on first MS account login!

Its seems rotation is not working at all. My phone took a big hit before, and I just got a new screen installed. I must have damaged the gyro in it.

Flashed my red 920 the other day using this excellent method. Pretty painless if you have patience & follow the instructions. Working perfect so far!

Re: How to update any L920 to GDR2/Amber in 12 easy steps!

Just a quick update... I decided to go ahead and test the At&t DEV ROM. What a way to spend my last night of summer, right? Anyway, first observations: It did not let me restore my back up. It shows "L" for LTE signal. Data sense is alive and well. It doesn't come installed with at&t bloatware, nor does it have the at&t logo on bootup.
