I believe Nokia should give Lumia 920 also RAW image support. Device has 32 GB storage space and owners of Lumia 920 are early supporters of WP8. What do you guys think?

Is there any benefit to this or merely just a me too kind of thing?

I can understand phones like the 1020 and 1520 having it but the 920 not so much.

Let Nokia fix the camera picture quality Auto mode first & then we will think about RAW pictures

Even Lumia 520 take better pictures than Lumia 920
The thing is with RAW we won't care for nokia post processing and white ballance settings and such.
If you care enough for a ceratin photo you can post process it later.

I thought 920 was branded PureView, which was the top end camera by Nokia at that time.

While it just means you'll fill the flash memory up faster, for some who love photography, adding RAW support would be a nice to have. But I can't blame them for leaving it only to those cameras with a lot more Mpixels.

RAW has nothing to do with number of mega pixels. It will mean unprocessed images like negatives in old school and you can fix it in programs like lightroom etc.

This is exactly the benefit RAW processing would bring - it would mean that the "poor" Auto processing really doesn't matter - although doesn't remove the need to have this sorted for people who always want to shoot in auto.

ETA - I do also agree with above where it will not come to the 920.

Man I swear I have both the 520 & 920 in Auto Mode 520 take better pictures in good light
Well there definitely must be something wrong with your 920 then. Do you have the latest firmware/OS and all the camera/software updates?
I own both the 920 and the 1020, and while I don't have a 520 to compare, the 920's images are still amazing and right up there with the 1020 in certain situations.

I believe that we will have the option on the 920. From the screenshots of the 1520 it just looks like an option in procam, why wouldn't they let the pureview cameras that support procam have the same option?

RAW support thread...

Thanks for getting the thread back on track. I can't wait to get the RAW DNG support on my 1020. It would be nice, yes, to have it on the 920 as well, but if not, then I'll just be reminded of why I really wanted the 1020 to begin with.

Ok, true but for some people like me. We have invested 620 $ about 7 months back when it was launched in our country. We expect it to last as flagship.

new phones get new features here in the uk the 920 is about 1 year old ...... the 1020 1 month old ...... nokia may seem fit to release raw for the 920 but it wouldn't surprise me if they only allowed it for phones with oversampling available

what you 920 owners would really want is the new jpeg processing that comes with black , it has much better processing and with raw support it seems to have been forgotten , I own a 1020 and am looking forwards to this more then raw support ;-) raw support does kick *** but oif nokia can get the jpeg processing back to their high standards of old we will all be very happy

Actually a lot of people are having problems with the 920 / 925 / 928 picture quality since amber. Pictures have become soft and green tinted.

With RAW you have the power to eliminate that :) I hope someone puts it to Nokia user voice or admin from site takes notice. Poll is clearly in our favor.
