My current phone was a quite cheap Android phone. It is now getting slower and slower, which is very frustrating.
I want my next phone to be a Windows Phone and I am willing to spend ?300 - ?500 (In Belgium, phones are not included in our plan)
The Nokia Lumia 925 is now on sale for ?349 at my local retailer (original price: ?489).
Should I buy this one or wait for the new models?

Thank you in advance,
Glenn

i recommend you to get the 925 now,MS already confirmed all WP8 devices will receive WP8.1 update,so no need to worry,i don't think after the new models you will get something better at that price range...

Hi Glen, if I were you I'd look into getting a 32gb 925 from either the UK or Germany. The German ones are all unlocked as are some of the UK phones. Both are Vodafone by the way.

Other than that I would wholeheartedly recommend getting a 925

Thank you very much guys!
I can wait a few months, that's why I don't want to just buy a phone without thinking it trough.
I don't use a lot of storage, so 16GB won't be a problem. My current phone has like 300MB storage and 4GB used on SD

Since Nokia will drop their support in 925 and 1020 after a couple of months, you should wait the beast 929. Just look the specs of 929. It is totally a beast

I disagree with you.
Lumia 1020 was recently released in EU with 64GB exclusively Telefonica (Mobile).
If he can get for cheap I strongly recommend go with 1020. It's a awesome product.

Source?
I can hardly imagine that since MS extended their Windows Phone support from 18 to 36 months. So why should Nokia drop support for their devices before MS does?

I am talking about the support and not the availability. Like what happened to my 920.. 920 has been released on September 2012. I saved money to buy it on November 2013. From what I am seeing now, they do not care about fixing the issues on 920 and they focused now on newer models.

920 is a great camera phone but Nokia is not doing anything on fixing the camera issue.

You should wait i think till wp8.1 devices get launch.
personally i like design of 925 but storage is only 16gb which is not sufficient i guess as some of the games take about 1gb+ storage.
if you dont mind size then i think you should go for lumia 1520 but your budget is less.
so my advice is to wait for wp8.1 devices or get 1020/1520

Yup returned mine today and am keeping the 810 till 8.1 phones are out. They better put in SD storage for these new units or there will be hell to pay. Especially when MS announced mass storage (A) support with SD cards a while back.

I wasn't talking about availability either. Of course older models are getting less attention by their manucaturers. But it's not like there are no solutions. Regarding the "camera issue" (you could be more precisely on this one), have you tried different camera apps (Pro Shot, Fhotolens,...) instead of the the stock camera app or Nokia Cam? (yes, it's sad that one has to install 3rd party apps because the stock app isn't getting fixed)

I know the feeling of being left behind when all other smartphones are getting updates/fixes and the OEM doesn't give a damn about you and your "older" phone. But it's not like MS or Nokia have abandonned the 920 (it still will get 8.1).

Thank you all for your advice again. I like the different opinions, and I'm now persuaded that it is better to wait for the new models.
The specs of the Lumia 929 are amazing (I looooove the 20MP camera with the Snapdragon 800-processor!), so I'll definitely wait.
It seems like Nokia is making a transition to the newest hardware now, so I'm waiting for the new models and then I'll see how much I spend (€300 - €500).
