My "other" storage is taking up so much space in my Windows phone! Is there any way to delete it other than resetting your phone entirely, because then I would have to keep doing that? Thanks.
Emails and messaging are in their own silos. Other means files that aren't recognized.Other storage is a collection of things, inc emails, messages, app stuff etc.
This is fixed in 8.1. I have my,storage tile pinned to start. Free space shrinks down, then restores itself during idle periods. Never drops below 1 GB (I'm using an 8GB model btw)Yeah I thought it was maps, emails, etc, but I found out that there are other sections for those. Mine is currently at 1 GB and growing every day.
Storage Sense in WP8.1 has largely alleviated the "other" problem for me; it's one of my favourite features of the OS now. My "other" is 0 and "temporary files" can usually be manually reduced to about 170MB.
I've never used a WP device with an SD card. Couldn't you just manage the "other" on the SD card with your PC to clear it out?Actually, on my Lumia 810 with 8.1, my temporary files are only 2.64MB and "Other" is down to 17MB. Not bad at all! Of course, that's on the phone's internal storage. On the SD card, the "Other" is around 849MB. Temp files are very, very low, though.
