I came from Android with an original Galaxy Note. After two years of that phone the battery couldn't hold a charge for half a day idling, so I bought a new battery and could charge that every other day with my typical usage (can't use my phone at work, so basically after 5:00 pm its connected to wi-fi, downloading and updating apps, reading news, used it as a remote for my chromecast when watching netflix, youtube, etc., listening to music). I bought the Lumia 1520 and have no regrets, but everyone kept talking about this AMAZING battery life. Reviews on youtube and forums. And either it is impressive and I'm not impressed, or my phone has a dud battery (bought it off of ebay, unlocked and using it on T-Mobile).
If I don't have location, data, or wifi on and only use my phone when I need to, I can get 2 and a half days out of it. But the other day I had it connected to data (mostly 4G in my location), and by the end of my workshift, it had gone down almost 20%. Not sure if that is normal or not, as I never used it during that time, it only synced some apps (mail, weather, etc) but the display was never on, no calls or texts were made or received.
So can anyone shed some light on past phones that you owned that were plugged in more than once a day, or why you think the 1520 has great battery? Glad to be part of the forum and jump on the WP bandwagon!
PS. I updated to WP 8.1 probably 2 weeks after getting it, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.
