It is almost an year since the launch of Lumia 1520. We all know that some of the third party apps (like Windows Central and recently WhatsApp just to name a few) are optimized to take take advantage of the huge screen. I would like to see how far Microsoft has gone to update their Apps. I personally hate to use zoomed or stretched out versions of Apps. They make the text look bigger and apps looks ugly.So I am gonna list all (I mean all the apps that I use. Please feel free to let me know about other apps, so that I can include them too) the Microsoft Apps along with the status.

  • Bing Translator - YES
  • Channel 9 - NO
  • Facebook - NO
  • GroupMe - NO

  • Fresh Paint - NO

  • Health & Fitness - NO
  • Lync 2013 - NO
  • Maps - YES
  • Money - NO

My only complaint with facebook from a screen standpoint is that the blue area at the top is bigger than it needs to be. Other than that everything looks fine.

I'm more concerned over the fact that you can't reply to comments on posts or see replies to comments on posts. If you get a notification it just launches the mobile website since the app can't do it. I don't see why it would be hard to add that. I work with websites and databases myself. It would be trivial to add that.

I agree with you. I don't like switching between the app and mobile website.
My main problem is that, they started the new Music app form scratch for wp8.1 but they still didn't bother to make sure it is optimized for larger screens. I can see at most 5 to 6 songs at time. That makes me scroll a lot since I have a lot of music in my collection and what pisses me more is that I'm paying for it (I have a xbox music subscription).:unhappy:

There is a button that will let you see your playlist. I can see 9 songs in that list without scrolling.

Actually my complaint with Xbox Music is that it doesn't play in the Album order anymore. The 8.0 version did that just fine as did the 7.x versions.

I'm sorry for not making it clear. But I wasn't referring to Now Playing list. I was talking about the all songs page where you see all your songs.

Again... I keep looking at the 1520 but there are two things that keep me from switching from my 920... The touch screen problems and how there aren't many apps setup to use the large screen.. I've never had an android phone before, but I went to a Samsung store and played with the Note 4 and it's a really nice phone that makes use of the large screen size... The os seems little messy, but is tempting .

I have the tap/scroll issue on mine. At least on mine its not that bad. Its only semi anoying. Maybe its worse on other phones, but its relatively infrequent.
