I had a Lumia 920, backed up all my text messages etc. Then i got a new phone (LG G3), and being Android, you do not start setting up the phone with a Hotmail or Outlook account, but a Google account. I created a Google account and am using the phone like normal. I later added my Hotmail account onto the LG as well to be able to receive my emails, but was never prompted to restore my backed up text messages. In the meantime my son is using the Lumia 920, and had to reset the phone to factory settings in order for him to add his own account. We created an Outlook account for him, and he is using the phone like normal. I have now added my old account onto the Lumia again, but still cannot retrieve my backed up text messages. It is REALLY important that i get those texts back. Please help!

Check your carrier site and log in there. They may have an archive stored for you since SMS is carrier traffic.
