I'm currently on T-Mobile with a 920 (former AT&T), and plan to get the 640 for Wi-Fi calling until a Win 10 flagship is released. I'll then give the 640 to my mom to replace her 635.

I was hoping the 640 had the 700 MHz LTE Band 12 inside for better indoor reception, but it seems like it will only be available in the Dual-Sim version of the 640.

Am I correct to assume that if I go through T-Mobile to get the 640, I'll get the Wi-Fi calling, but not the Band 12? And if I instead choose to get the Dual-Sim version of the 640 somewhere else, I'll get the Band 12, but not Wi-Fi calling?

That is how it looks from what I read. Unless the T-Mobile website details are not complete at the moment.

Time will tell...

Note the T-Mobile website shows the camera as recording 720p when it actually does 1080p, so the T-Mobile site isn't 100% accurate. Would be odd for them to sell a phone that doesn't support all their frequencies.

Yeah. I'm hoping that LTE Band 12 doesn't show up in the 640 specs, and T-Mobile will just need to activate it in an update later on. I'm not holding my breath though. WiFi calling is more important to me right now since they don't have the 700Mhz running in many places. I'm in L.A., so it is supposed to be coming this year. I'll probably switch to a flagship by the time it's official.

It doesn't seem like they're going to release it any time soon... I'll probably just stay on Android until the next flagship. No idea why they talk about a device, and can't even come up with a release date... smh

That's due to someone commenting on their site for them to add band 12 on there. I hope it is right because it also shows the screen having 1280 x 1080 resolution, and I'm pretty sure the 640 is only 1280 x 720. Microsoft's own site doesn't show band 12 for the 640 LTE version... only on the dual sim.

Doesn't matter that much since I'm just getting it as a transition phone until a Surface phone or a 940 or whatever comes out.
