I installed a new SD on my Lumia 640, why aren't photos showing in the pictures folder?

installed a new sd in lumia 640, photos not showing in the pictures folder.

hi all my wife has a lumai 640, ive put a larger sd card in her phone, all formatted by the phone then put in the laptop and copied pictures over into the pictures folder. ive tried countless times, ive formatting the card in the laptop or the phone and they still cant be seen, its about 25gb of data, mostly pictures. i did notice on one instance when you go into storage sense and on the card the card had created a other folder and stuck them all in there. is there anyway to do this properly. i bought a 128gb card for my lumia and did it exactly the same way and mine copied over fine. the card works and had no issues etc is a samsung evo 64gb card. i must have wasted hours copying photos over then reformatting then starting again.

Have you set the phone to use SD card as storage for photos and video?
