For all the grief people have given the Lumia 830..

It still looks three times better than the new offerings from MS. I'll just download and use the W10 RTM upon release until the surface phone is released. Should get another 1.5 years out of this phone at least.....

What grief has it been given? Do you have a picture of one? I've seen the new ones - what don't you like about them?

IMO the 830 and 930 do look great but judging the looks of a unreleased product is a tad unfair. Regardless more on it in the next 24 hours :winktongue:

I do believe that the 830 is the best phone to come out from Nokia, and I say Nokia because this is literally the last phone that has their name on it and the last one the original Nokia team had input it. It is the affordable flagship in terms of design and build, bit I do hate that every phone along side it and the ones after it have almost the same specs as far as processor. I plan on holding onto this phone at least until Tax Time. By then there should be enough known on the new flagships to see which one would be best and pay cash up front.

830 is an excellent phone. I own one. There are only two things that held it back.
1) Poor FFC, and
2) Price point (SIM-free) It should have sold at 30% cheaper when launch.

At the moment, I am sitting on a 1520, 830, and 930, trying to decide which one to stick with. Oh yeah - an M8 as well.

I am anxious to see pricing today for the 950. I won't sell 4 phones to buy a 950, but I'd sell 2 of them for it. :)

Had a 930 for a long time, dropped it for the 830, and now am likely to make another change. I'm just not sure I can get used to the 1520. I think I will sell the one I have (actually have two - yellow and black). I was originally planning on trying out the M8, but then this 930 popped up, so I think I am going back there.

So, the 1520 (two), M8, and 830 are all likely on the block, and I'll keep the 930 for now. Hopefully, I'll move over to a 950 towards the end of the year.

I also have another 1520 with a cracked screen that I picked up, so I'm thinking I'm going to hang onto that one, but not fix the screen just now. If I decide to try out a 1520, I can always fix it later.

I have a few complaints about my L830 (particularly that the GMS tends to freeze) but all in all I'm very happy with it. The new 950 looks great but I still have a year on my AT&T contract. That will give me time to see how the 950 does in the marketplace as well as if they introduce an even more compelling phone next year. Then I'll have the option of either buying the newest, most compelling phone (1060, anyone?), or get a 950 at a better price because it will have been on the market a year, or slink back to iPhone if Windows 10 is unsatisfying on my phone. No rush, like I say, the 830 is fine for me, but I'm just an enthusiast, not a full-fledged ******!
