Updating Surface RT from 8 to 8.1 using an ISO image

Hi all.

Is there a way to update Surface RT using an ISO image instead of directly downloading it from the Store? I have a shaky Internet connection and RT 8.1 is over 2 GB for Surface RT, so I was wondering if I can download the update faster on my laptop using download tools and then somehow have my Surface RT get updated using the downloaded file.

Is the update available as an image? And if it is, how can I install it from a USB memory? Any ideas?

As far as I know, there was no ISO image route for 8.1 Preview, so doubt there will be one for the general release version.

All I can do is suggest you find someone/somewhere with a more stable internet connection and use that to upgrade.
