Why are shortcut icons on the desktop showing Black Boxes?

Shortcut Icons in Desktop showing Black Boxes

I recently made some changes in the registry to make the shortcut icons go away as per a tutorial written by Daniel Rubinho in Windows Central.2 days later i see black boxes around the shortcuts i have on desktop.Why this happened/How to Remove this?

I'm having the same issue after following the tutorial as well

Found a way myself.Delete the shell Icons folder that was created as per the Tutorial.Then follow the steps again.ie;Create the Shell icons folder and name String Value 29.Double click it and paste the code.Restart your Computer.The black boxes will go away.
