In more positive news. My wife has been accepted for a PhD which she will be starting soon. She got accepted into a Finnish University, which is a dream come true for her. This is also good because we don't need to pay for it. [emoji16]

In sad news, two of my wife's family members passed away last year. We couldn't attend the funerals. One was due to stage four cancer and the other was a sudden death due to an aneurysm. Neither had covid as far as we know. Both under 70, both doctors.

Since you probably haven't followed France's news, a quick update is that we typically get about 70,000 new cases a week and we have two new variants the UK and the South African running around. There's no lockdown. We have a curfew at 6pm and it's a night lockdown until 6am. Other than that...

So, as I said, both my wife and I are fine. We're still currently in Paris. As far as we know no one in my family or my wife's family has any issues with covid so far.

So I'll be doing a bit of posting but this is just a short stay. Just thought I'd bring everyone up to speed.

Our summer so far has been pretty crap. Weeks of very high winds (unusual for Paris) cloudy days and rain. But finally, it appears summer has finally made it's way here. Warm, blue sky day with little to no wind. It's a relief.
