It seems Microsoft is ending support for all of these. Anybody have any info as to why, or if they are going to be replaced with something newer for Windows 10? Seems like a awful shame as these are great products, and help Microsoft with their Band products as well. Isn't this what the Microsoft Band is for, one of its Primary functions??

Re: Microsoft Ending support for ALL 3 Health Apps for both Windows and WP

This has been written about on the main site before, about a week ago. The reasoning is that these apps were rarely ever used, and so there's not much reason to keep them. That being said, if there were an alternative for Health and Fitness, it would come through an update in the Microsoft Health app.

Re: Microsoft Ending support for ALL 3 Health Apps for both Windows and WP

This news broke about a week ago; Microsoft are discontinuing MSN Health, Travel and Food.

I think the obvious reason for getting rid of Travel and Food is that they're not popular enough to justify the upkeep, bearing in mind that Microsoft are looking at making the business more efficient.

Regarding the Health platform...Microsoft are committed to personal health and fitness. They're continuing with HealthVault and moving forward with a new build of Microsoft Band. They're also making on-going improvements to the Microsoft Health platform.

It doesn't really make sense for MS to continue to run three fragmented health focussed apps. They'd be far better off rolling them into one powerful platform with the Microsoft Band at the centre of it, gathering analytics and feeding that data into your profile. I suspect that's what MS are going for.

Not that I have any insider knowledge, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see the best bits of MSN Health moving over to the MS Health App in coming months. I'd also not be surprised to see HealthVault vanishing in the near future
