Hello...
My Windows 10 install thumb drive is getting a little long in the tooth (it is a few months old, of course).
I figured I would update it with a more current build, but I wasn't sure what build the Media Creation Tool downloads.
If it's the same as I already have, then it's a waste of time and bandwidth.
I know there have been a lot of updates, over the months, though.
Optimally, I would like to download an ISO of the new redstone update.
I'm sure that's not what it will provide, though.
It's kind of lame that I can't download ISOs, from the insider site.

You have an option to create an iso with the media creation tool, use update/upgrade another PC. The O/S version that is being pushed through the media creation tool is 1511 as that is TH2. The iso is a combined iso - it contains two versions - both pro and home.

Thanks for the information...
My current thumb drive is 10586.
I'll do the update.

Do you know of any means of getting insider ISOs?
JJ

Edit...
Wait a sec...
Your pictures show 10586, as well.
Is 1511 and 10586 the same thing?

Yes, O/S Version 1511 - Build 10586.xx

Go to run via right clicking the start menu or winkey+x -> type in winver and you will see what I mean :).

The build number changes with each cumulative update for o/s version 1511.

Also make sure you back up all your personal data before upgrading to an external, also to be on the safe side clone your hdd just in case. In the event the worst happens and the update doesn't go smoothly.

Furthermore if you haven't already seperate your o/s into a separate partition so if your o/s messes up down the line all you have to do is reinstall the o/s and your apps.
