How did you make photos tile transparent? I can't seem to figure that out lol

Go to photo hub settings -> background image = single picture.

Dont set a picture

Instant transparent

Finally decided why the bloody hell not and went out for the 1520 in yellow cos I kinda regretted getting a boring black 920 the first round and wow! I love this phone. Shame I didn't get on it sooner.

Did take forever to get to 8.1 so I just threw this startscreen together pretty quickly, but I'm loooooving this phone a lot!

haha, just a few tries, screen grabbed and then layered it with a 1020 background. and then when cortana hops you can see the lenses closing.. wild imagination i guess haha

Yeah... Took me just a couple tries on the one I posted back when: http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-phone-8-1/271565-41.htm#post2672531 that I am still using... Rather than line up on Cortana (which I'd thought about) I had the background picture looking at my ICE App. Rather witty considering the expression... Or so I hope.

i noticed that most people sort their tiles by priority. meaning the most used tiles like "phone" and "Calendar" on the top and rest further down.
i prefer those tiles at the very bottom of the visible part of the screen. because screens are getting larger and i find it more conveniant to have them in reach. like apple and android do with their "docks".

so here's mine:
